Clean the sensor vent area

On DMW2420 models, the sensor opening is at the top-center of the cavity. Heavy grease buildup here is the most common cause of F5.

Heat a cup of water for 2 minutes using manual timed mode. If it heats normally, the magnetron and core systems are fine and the issue is limited to the sensor.
You can continue using the microwave in manual timed mode while waiting for a sensor repair.

Reset power and retest sensor mode
Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then plug it back in. Try an auto-reheat cycle with a plate of refrigerated food to see if the sensor responds after the reset.
